She stared at the flyer, its glossy surface mocking her. "Luxury Living!" it blared, a phrase that felt alien in her cramped, creaking apartment. Sarah leaned against the chipped counter, the cool tile doing nothing to soothe the tremor in her hands. The city’s relentless pace had been taking its toll.

The sudden shift to condo status was a final straw. This apartment was all she could manage. The thought of packing, moving, the whole process, made her feel as though gravity had doubled. She closed her eyes, imagining the dust motes dancing in the single shaft of sunlight that pierced the gloom. She just wanted to… rest.
